Potato bake with mushroom sauce


Babka ziemniaczana:

  • 2 kg potatoes
  • 2-6 pureed boiled potatoes
  • ½ kg smoked bacon
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup semolina
  • salt
  • pepper

Mushroom sauce

  • ½ kg mushrooms
  • 125 g butter
  • 1 cup cream
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 2 tbs flour
  • 1 onion
  • salt
  • pepper



Potato bake

Peel and grate the potatoes with the finest grating option. Dice the bacon and fry it. Mix the potatoes with the fried bacon and the remaining ingredients, beat in 6 egg, mix and season. Put onto a greased baking tin and bake in the oven for about 1 hour at 200 C. After baking cut into slices and serve with mushroom sauce.

Mushroom sauce

Wash and chop the mushrooms, fry them in butter with the onion and season to taste. Beat together 2-3 of the egg yolks, flour and about 150 ml of whipping cream. Add the liquid mixture to the mushrooms and stir until it attains an even consistency.
